“I beg you for my son...”

Bulletin nº23 (September 05)

The Bulletin of the Prayer Network for the Evangelisation of Spain
“ ... Onesimus, who became my son while I was in chains” (Philemon 10)

Lord, give us the hearts of parents towards those we have brought to birth in the Gospel this year. Father, how we long to have such a soft heart as your servant Paul had for his “son” Onesimus. Give us that burden, help us to do the necessary, whether write a letter, an email, call or make a visit, whatever the response or circumstances. help us to make such efforts and sacrifices as are necessary to see these children growing in Christ rather than being lost. Give us your Spirit to pray with insistence and perseverance until Christ be formed in them.

Dear brethren in prayer and evangelism, this is the clamour with which we begin this month of September, after the many evangelistic activities of the summer and the opportunities, even while on holiday, to share the gospel of salvation. As we pray we fulfil the high calling of the Lord Jesus Christ to be his co-workers in this wonderful work of redemption of the lost. Thank you for praying for the topics which we now present. our prayer is that the Lord bless each one of you in this return to every day activity and that He will grant us all the joy of having mature spiritual children.

Pray for follow-up:

§ Operation Transit: Praise the Lord for His great goodness to our neighbours and visitors from North Africa! Give thanks for the thousands of them who once again this summer received the message bringing peace and salvation. Thanks for those who gave their time to hand out the message packets with adult and children's literature and DVDs. Thanks for open doors to work in the southern European ports of Alicante, Algeciras, Ceuta, Marseille (France), as well as in Madrid. Despite threats from fellow countrymen, including family members and friends, many showed sufficient spiritual hunger to be willing to accept these packets. testimonies of all that has been done are on their way.

Lord Jesus, through your Holy Spirit reveal yourself to these thousands who have received packets, but in particular the 500 who heard a presentation of the gospel and were invited to receive Christ as Lord and Saviour. In particular, we pray for the approximately 50 who made that prayer of faith. Lord, you have promised that you will teach them your precious word – each one of them whether young or old. Teach them and send them disciplers who can teach them in their homes in Europe or Africa.

§ Every Home Crusade EHC annually distributes half a million pieces of literature in evangelistic activities alongside local churches. This is generally a systematic house by house distribution. We join with the feeling of their director, José Seisdedos: Pray for the seed sown in numerous parts of Spain this summer. Part will have fallen by the path, among thorns or on stony ground. But some will also have fallen on fertile land, ready to produce abundant fruit.”

§ FestiMadrid: keep praying for the follow-up from this big event held in Madrid in June. Pray for those who have taken on the responsibility to visit the contacts, teach them and guide them in the new life in Christ. May the devil not steal away the seed sown. Water this land with your prayer! Read more about this event

§ Decision a full photo report of their outreach is on their web at

§ Pocket Testament League A report on the outreach held in Palamós, Costa Brava during the first half of this month can be read here.

Pray for the following activites:

§ Radio Televisión Amistad: this TV and radio station has been on the air in a number of localities for years. Lisardo Cano, its director asks for prayer: “Pray for us. and support us as we want to keep up this strategic ministry and the associated campaigns.” More: www.rtvamistad.tv

§ Centro de Estudios de la Reforma (Reformation Studies Centre): pray for its director, Gabino Fernández Campos, who is involved all over Spain in exhibitions and events presenting the gospel though old and new media. This year, the 400th anniversary of the publication of Cervantes' Don Quijote, is giving many opportunities to present the way in which many Bible quotations and other influence can be found in this book, which still escaped the gaze of the Spanish Inquisition. Likewise, the exhibitions and talks allow Gabino to highlight the work of the Spanish contemporaries of Cervantes who risked their lives to bring Spain a colloquial translation of the Bible for the first time. His web site is a must for Spanish speakers interested in the reformation and Spanish evangelical history in general: www.protestantes.net

§ Spanish Evangelists' Conference The promoters of this news letter and of evangelism in Spain are once again working towards a Pray for Spain Sunday. This year leaders of the Conference will be holding several seminars and preaching in churches in Zaragoza on the first weekend in October (1st and 2nd) . Pray that the Conference will become better known and understood and that the objectives will become deeply rooted in the churches. Pray as materials are also prepared for prayer around the nation, some of which we hope to include in the next bulletin. More about the Conference at the web site: www.confevan.org

Many thanks again for your commitment to pray for Spain. We would love to hear from you, so please if you are praying regularly for Spain let us know by sending us an email. If you have any queries or contributions, don't hesitate to get in touch!
