Prayer Network up and running

At about the same time as Pray4Spain was being set up, so was a national prayer netwrok in Spain itself. It is clear that the Lord was at move in different people at the same time to bring this about, although many of those involved in these and other initiatives during the early months of 2003 were in touch and supporting each other's initiatives. P4S is itself an initiative partly inspired by the Spanish Evangelists' Conference.

What follows is a copy of the original announcement and invitation to join the prayer chain.

Round the clock Spanish prayer initiative for the evangelisation of Spain set up and going: LA "RED DE ORACIÓN PARA LA EVANGELIZACIÓN DE ESPAÑA"

The objective is to pray for all the evangelistic events which are taking place.

Madrid, 10-03-2003 ''Lord give me Scotland or I'll die!'' John Knox's declaration and prayerfully followed through effort in evangelism and prayer, brought Scotland to Christ. In December 2001 the Spanish Evangelists' Conference, attended by 600 people, prayed along the same lines for Spain. Since then a round-the-clock network has ben set up.

There remain 7500 of the 8000 municipal districts (cities, towns and villages, or groups of villages) which still have no evangelical church. The concern to reach these was the spark which grew into the Prayer Network. Ana Maria Huck, director of the Evangelist's Conference Prayer Network hopes it will link believers all over Spain.

Each person who wishes to participate in the Network is invited to commit to pray just 15 minutes per week in a slot which he or she choses.

So far, about one thousand volunteers have signed up. The Network began officially on 1st March and the first period of commitment is until 1st September this year, with the goal of covering the summer evangelistic events.

The latest newsleter of the prayer network can be read on the Latest News page: "Arise, Spain..."

More information from the official Conference site (in Spanish)

People reading this are also invited to sign up. If you can read/write Spanish please send your application stating name, location and the time you have chosen to pray to: ceeoracion@yahoo.es

For non-Spanish speakers, please send us a message.

Thanks!

P.S. Jan 2006 The prayer chain as such has now ended, but regular prayer letters are still sent out, as you can see on these pages!
