Internet Ministries

As elsewhere in the world, the significance of the World Wide Web as a means to communicate ideas is rapidly being appreciated, if not yet fully understood by the evangelical churches.

A number of very interesting web sites and ministries have sprung up over the past years (with not a few disappearing after a sadly short lifetime) and some of these are not only for internal use, although this is the case for the majority.

Among the ministries which are using Internet for exchange of news and ideas within the evangelical community are the FEREDE and Evangelical Alliance, with their news services.

Of particular interest to PrayforSpain is, of course, the online prayer network. Due to the evident difficulties of this kind of ministry in keeping out gatecrashers, while allowing in guests, it has so far been impossible to establish a long-term 24 hour prayer network, but the 24-7 network is as close to it as possible. (PrayforSpain has no current intentions in this direction!)

Among those using Internet to reach out to others, although a majority of enquirers to some sites may still be already believers are Cursos Bíblicos por Correspondencia, with a purely evangelistic Bible Course (link). Buenas Noticias TV also has evangelistic messages, plus links to their TV programmes, which go out weekly on TVE. BNTV is part of Canal de Vida, which also supports a weekly radio programme on RNE, as well as its own online radio station, Radio Encuentro.
