And in the Brazilian shirt for the first time... Y en la camisa brazileña por primera vez...

The final day of the four days of open air preaching workshops was last night. Fortunately I had transported some powder paint from Spain which had survived quite well - although baggage handling had managed to perforate one of the plastic containers. However the paint which was acquired locally was acrylic base and the only paper of sufficient size was brown wrapping paper. To multiply sketchboards we brought in a variety of boards to serve for practice. 80 plus people turned up in heavy rain, so a drop in numbers from the first day. Adriana was very good as I shuttled between the alternating groups practicing ladder lettering, and others constructing a childrens´talk and an adult talk. As some of the Memorial church will not be coming on the campaign at Joanopolis which starts on Saturday, there was a farewell last night. They presented me with a Brazil shirt! Will have to be careful where I wear that!! Meanwhile the church was a hive of activity as it is a major logistical exercise to get us all together with supplies to Joanopolis. Last evening my supper was with the church caretaker´s family whose children plied me with questions, as well as rice and beans!

El día final de los cuatro de los talleres sobre la predicación al aire libre fue anoche. Providencialmente había trasportado pintura en polvo desde España que había sobrevivido bastante bien - a pesar de una perforación en uno de los contenidores plásticos entre Lima y Sao Paolo. La pintura comprada localmente tenía una base acrílica y el único papel disponible fue marrón tipo embalaje. Para multiplicar los tableros echamos mano a una serie de otras tablas para la práctica. Más de 80 personas vinieron a pesar de la lluvia fuerte, pero fue un descenso de la asistencia desde el primer día. Adriana fue muy buena según iba yo corriendo entre grupos quienes practicaron su letra de escalera, y otros que prepararon mensajes de niños y de adultos. Como algunos de la iglesia Memorial no van a la campaña en Joanopolis que empieza el sábado, hubo una despedida anoche. Me presentaron con una camiseta del equipo brasileño de fútbol. Tendré que cuidar dónde me presento en eso!

Mientras tanto la iglesia es una hormiguera de actividad para el ejercicio mayor de llevarnos a todos juntamente con suministros a Joanopolis. Anoche mi cena estuve con la familia del portero de la iglesia cuyos jóvenes me interroparon y me aguasajon con arroz y frijoles.
